American Indian Property

This book is a detailed account of American Indian property rights from pre-colonial times to present. Topics covered include the origin of Indian property rights, the divestment of those rights by federal law, the revitalization of traditional tribal property rights, and the state of Indian property rights in the contemporary United States. Discussion of special groups such as the Native Hawaiians, Alaska Native and Indians in Oklahoma is also included.
