Benjamin Franklin observed: "Tell me and I forget. Teach me and I remember. Involve me and I learn." Article 9 of the Uniform Commercial Code is, unlike much of UCC Article 2, not intuitive. To encourage involvement, that is, active learning by students, this book relies on a series of diagrams, examples, and questions, some of which are interposed within the cases or examples, in order to direct the students to the operative facts and to a correct application of the law. By using numerous questions students are led to the realization that participating in study groups or with another is the best way to deal with the issues raised. Faculty from states other than Georgia may easily substitute for Appendices C and D, Non-Uniform Georgia Variations, their state's non-uniform variations and may want to supply the 2010 Amendments to Article 9 as a new Appendix E.
